As we head deeper into November, the days are shorter, the sunsets are more vivid and the afternoons get dramatically cooler as the sun goes down. This is the time when we begin to prioritize how we will spend the next 6 weeks. We take decorations down from the attic to do a quick inventory, pull out the favorite family recipes and begin to shop for Thanksgiving and holiday baking supplies.
This year our grandson Cooper will make his favorite pumpkin muffins again. We’ve decided to spend the Friday after Thanksgiving working on our first batches of Christmas cookies to swap with our friends in December.
We look forward to heading out to the commons for shopping and enjoying the festive lights, food and atmosphere there. Family walks to the beach and beyond will be plentiful. Patriots games, puzzles, Scrabble competitions and holiday movies are the simple pleasures that we look forward to the most.
Every season on Cape Cod is a gift, with its unique beauty, treasured memories and family traditions. We are so grateful to share them with our family, friends and neighbors right here. Let the festivities begin!
